Queen Maggie Zacharias

2024 Queen - Maggie Zacharias

The 2024 Lewiston Roundup Queen is Maggie Zacharias. She is the 20-year-old daughter of Merilee and
Luke Zacharias, an older sister to Quincee and a younger sister to her brother Triston. Maggie attended
high school in Joseph, Oregon. She currently resides in Wallowa where she works as a Medical Assistant.
Some outstanding achievements include earning 9 Steps on Dad Potter in 4-H with a horse she trained
herself, 2021-22 Eastern Oregon District FFA Sentinel, 2019 Elign Stampede Queen, 2022 Chief Joseph
Days Queen, and earning her National FFA degree in 2023. Most important to her is working for Winding
Waters Medical Clinic in Enterprise, Oregon since her sophomore year of high school and becoming
certified in her position this last October.
In 2017 Maggie was awarded a Wallowa County Stock Growers Scholarship heifer. Maggie purchased
her as a purebred Angus from McClaren Ranch in Joseph, Oregon. From there, Maggie and her sister
have continued to grow a small cow herd of six cows, not including their aunt and uncle’s Bull named
Pugsley. They are bred and the girls use their calves to put meat in their freezers and to supply 4-H kids
if asked. Maggie’s favorite quote is “What are you willing to do to be remembered?” - by unknown.
Becoming rodeo royalty has been in Maggie’s blood from a young age. Her aunt was Chief Joseph Days
Queen when Maggie was only three. The last weekend of July each year, Maggie would get all dressed
up and spend four days watching the rodeo royalty do the grand entry. For as long as she can
remember, she has always been on a horse. She was hooked instantly when she was given a sweet mare
named Badger. She competed in AQHA shows around Oregon, Washington and Idaho, which later
developed into the love of rodeo. She has had many great horses build her confidence throughout the
years, but one of the greatest left her a year ago for greener pastures and an easier retirement. The
horse you see her riding today is her 12-year-old gelding, Cowboy. He has carried her through many
parades and grand entry runs. Cowboy also helped Maggie with other activities like easy trail rides,
working alongside local ranchers to gather cows, as well as pulling sleds and toboggans in the winter.
Maggie would like to take the time and thank her friends, family, and work family for supporting her
through her quest to hold this queen title. There is no I in team and with them it shows every day. A
special thank you to Royalty Director Jamie Canning and Chaperone Athena Ells for their dedication to
the Lewiston Roundup Court and how many miles and hours it takes to get us up and down the rodeo
trail!! Remember to always stay humble and that She’s Wild.

Princess Tabitha Ells

2024 Princess - Tabitha Neville

The 2024 Lewiston Roundup Princess is Tabitha Neville. She is the twenty-year-old daughter of Joyce
and Chuck Neville. Tabitha started high school in Wenatchee, Washington and finished those years in
Troy, Idaho. She resides on her family’s horse ranch where they breed and sell quarter horses. She is
currently working on pursuing a career in agriculture, with a strong passion for photography and
advocacy.
Some of her outstanding achievements include placing first in Washington with her FFA horse evaluation
team in 2018 and going to nationals in Indianapolis. She has also placed first in Idaho with her team, and
second individually for FFA soil evaluation in 2021, competing at nationals in Oklahoma City, along with
placing third in Idaho for prepared public speaking in 2022. Her other FFA achievements include placing
first in her district for meat evaluation and sales, as well as earning her Idaho FFA degree. Tabitha has
also competed at the state level for alto saxophone in solo ensemble, fueled her passion for music with
jazz band, and earned her place in the Golden Marching Band through high school.
Tabitha was inspired by rodeo queens very early in life. She has watched her sister compete in some of
the biggest queening pageants and was surrounded by amazing royalty role models. Tabitha held her
first title at the age of nine, becoming the Miss Rodeo Washington Sweetheart. Since then, she has been
hoping to one day have another opportunity to promote agriculture and rodeo. Tabitha grew up very
involved in 4-H, competing in both classic show events and gaming on her first horse, Hickory. Even
earlier than her days in 4-H, Tabitha learned to love horses while galloping through the canyons
bareback with her godmother and friends.
This year you will get to see Tabitha riding her gorgeous sorrel mare, Miss Tari Mac. Miss Tari came into
her life as Neville Performance Horses first broodmare. She is the dam of many of the horses running
around their ranch, including Tabitha’s favorite horse, “Big Mac.” Miss Tari has retired from their
breeding program and has been proving to be an amazing queening horse. The pair has been working to
build on the bond they started during Tabitha’s duties on foal watch. Miss Tari has been truly
exceptional in taking everything asked of her and putting her heart into it. The two of them are sure to
have a blast this summer.
Tabitha would like to thank her mom, dad, and family for being behind her for every step of this process
and pushing her to become a better version of herself every day. She would especially like to give a huge
thanks to her sister, and chaperone, Athena Ells. Athena was the one to show Tabitha the world of
rodeo, and has been by her side as a friend, mentor, and everything in between. She wouldn’t be half
the woman she is today without her extraordinary big sister. Tabitha would also like to say a special
thank you to the Lewiston Roundup Association for the opportunity to represent an amazing event and
community, and for making this all possible. And finally, a big thanks to Royalty Director, Jamie Canning,
for her immense dedication to the Court and Roundup. Tabitha is beyond excited for the year to come,
and cannot wait to see what is waiting down the rodeo road.
